Featured image 11 – Monks on water

Luang Prabang is a highly religious city in northern Laos. It is full of Buddhist temples and monasteries, and orange clad monks are a prominent part of everyday life.

During a recent trip there, we saw monks in internet cafes, swimming in the river, in tuk tuks and on boats. They add to the already serene atmosphere of the city which sits on the Mekong river where it meets the Nam Khan river. Every morning, hundreds of monks from the various monasteries walk through the streets collecting alms.

  1. Beautiful picture. That orange colour is amazing, we loved it so much while traveling through Thailand!
And of course it’s our national colour, but that has nothing to do with it 🙂
