I thought I hated football, until…

High Five! That’s all there is to it when a seven year old boy approaches a group of Moroccan kids in the hope that he can join in their football match. Language is overrated as long as there is a ball and a handful of boys in place.

This is how it came about that we are now travelling with a football in the luggage. Always. Not the most practical of items I must admit. But nevertheless, an essential piece of kit if you want your kids to integrate with the locals. So it turns out they were right. You know, the people who insist that football is the most beautiful game in the world. Football makes the world smaller, and may I add, a little bit happier.

Ramos, Kaka, Messi, Ronaldinho, Torres, Ronaldo, Rooney, Benzema, Tevez and Casillas

small boys, big dreams
